DStv removed the French
hits channel in late 2006 from it's DMX offering there is no longer any
French music available on DStv. At the time both DMX and DStv claimed
that no-one was listening to the French channel! Even stranger, they
left the Italian music channel with 90% less listenership intact! French music - Musique française Apart from signing up for the Parabole satellite television service where you will find music and radio channels, one can use your internet connection to find what is going on in the world of French music. French music - Musique française The best site for what is going on in the french music world is the TF1 musiv/video site which allows you to see and play all the latest french music online. I use this site to find "what is new" and then I will find and play the video on You Tube. The You Tube site uses less bandwidth and allows you to download the video clip that you like to your own computer. Buying CD's and DVD's in France One of the best and most reliable sites for purchasing French CD'd online is Alapage.com. I have used them dozens of times for both CD'd and DVD's and have never had any problem - I usually receive my order within 10 to 14 days. Buying French CD's in SA Alternatively you can get some French CD's at Look & Listen. The choice, however, is usually not very good as no-one there bothers to find out what artists to order. In the past I gave them details of top sellers in France but they usually ordered old material! They can order specials for you but these are usually twice thr price of ordering directly via Alapage.com
